The short version
- The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to our server and are not stored.

The numbers you type into the calculators
Every calculation happens in your own browser. Grades, scores, credits and course names you enter are not sent to our server, saved in a database or shared with anyone. When you close or reload the page, they are gone.
Information saved on your device
If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name ga-theme, so the site remembers it next time. It contains only the word “light” or “dark” and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Cookies
GradeAnchor does not use cookies for advertising. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and ga followed by an ID, which keep for up to 2 years, to count visits (see Third-party services). Our hosting provider, Hostinger, sets one technical cookie named hcdn to deliver the site securely and quickly. It is deleted when you close your browser. WordPress, the software the site runs on, uses cookies only for people who log in to manage the site.
Server logs
GradeAnchor is hosted by Hostinger. Like almost every web host, its servers automatically record basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you visited and the time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working. We do not use them to identify you.
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they use and how they found the site. It collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser. It does not collect the numbers you type into the calculators. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Analytics does not set its cookies. We keep Analytics data for 14 months. You can read how Google uses this information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and block Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We do not use advertising or social media tracking. The fonts are stored on our own server. If we add another service, we will update this policy before it goes live.

Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your email. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.
Children
GradeAnchor is a general audience website for students, parents and teachers. It is not directed at children under 13, and the calculators do not collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Because we do not collect personal information through the calculators, there is usually nothing for us to show or delete. If you have emailed us, you can ask us at contact@gradeanchor.com what we hold and ask us to delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
