About

GradeAnchor is a small set of free grade calculators for students and teachers in the United States. Each one answers one question clearly and shows the math behind the answer.

The calculators

  • Grade Calculator: your current grade from weighted assignments or points, and what you need on the rest of the class.
  • Final Grade Calculator: the score you need on the final exam to finish with the grade you want.
  • GPA Calculator: college or high school GPA, weighted and unweighted, plus your overall GPA.
  • Percentage to GPA Calculator: turn a percentage into a 4.0 GPA and letter grade, or a GPA back into a percentage.
  • Grade Curve Calculator: see what one score or a whole class becomes under five common curves.
  • Class Average Calculator: the class average, middle score, pass rate and letter grade count from a list of scores.
  • Easy Grader: a grading chart for teachers, with a quick lookup and a printable chart.

Who runs GradeAnchor

GradeAnchor is run by Mujeeb Ullah from Mardan, Pakistan. It is an independent website. It is not part of any school, college or testing organization.

How the calculators are built and checked

  • They use the grading rules most US schools follow: the standard letter scale (A from 90%, B from 80% and so on), the plus/minus scale, and the 4.0 GPA scale.
  • Every result shows the formula with your own numbers, so you can check it yourself or compare it with your syllabus.
  • Before a calculator goes live, it is checked against worked examples calculated by hand and a set of automated tests, including unusual inputs like blank rows, letter grades and half points.
  • Each calculator is tested on phones and computers, in light and dark mode, and with accessibility checks for keyboard and screen reader use.

What GradeAnchor does not do

  • No sign-up or account.
  • No storing your grades. The calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our server.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Found a mistake?

Schools grade in different ways, and a calculator can always be improved. If a result looks wrong, or your school uses a rule we do not cover, please email contact@gradeanchor.com. Include the calculator you used and the numbers you entered. Confirmed mistakes are fixed and the page is updated.

Results are estimates. Your school, syllabus or instructor always has the final word. See the Disclaimer.
